It’s almost impossible to find Montana’s frontier glory day beer brand signs…but these reproductions are the next best thing. This sign from our short lived Montana Brewing Company (1894-1918—Great Falls, MT) is reportedly one of the rarest of vintage brands available for our state. Their brands were Best Beer & My Favorite Beer…unlike many reproductions sold via eBay and elsewhere this features crisp art work, bright colors and a great inset picture of the Missouri River falls. A perfect piece of Montana brewing history at an affordable price…This is one of our favorites. Printed on .125 Metal.
About Montana Brewing Company: Located in Great Falls along the course followed by the Lewis and Clark expedition, Montana Brewing Company was only open between 1894-1918 and to my knowledge only produced two main brands – Best Beer & the My Favorite Beer Brand. Owned by J. H. Johnson, it appears that it grew out of the American Brewing and Malting Company of which Mr Johnson and J. Trimborn. In ads of the day, they touted their pneumatic drum malting plant (an exclusive to Montana at the time) and their strict adherence to the “pure food law.” My Favorite Beer was described as “a special brew of bottled beer. Pure as can be. The best of drinks…”
